Top Five Books For Teens

Reading is one of the greatest escapisms there is! Once you get stuck in a real good book, the rest of the world just vanishes right before your vry eyes! Finding that golden book that you lose time and space in, is a heavenly feeling, it's like finding the booty after an all day long treasure hunt! To make it easier for you, here I have compiled my top five books. They include a range of different types of books from a murder mystery to a music romance series! These are all books that I have enjoyed and that I hope you will too!

All The Bright Places

All the bright places was a very popular book in 2021. It battles a big issue, mental health. In 2021, due to the pandemic and lockdowns, mental health issues were on the rise and this is why so many people turned to this book for understanding. This book beautifully depicts the rising issue of mental health problems. In a deep, understanding way it focuses on two teens and their struggle with depression. It’s far from a light read but it’s a beautiful story. It left me in tears for days.

If I stay

A beautiful book about a young music couple. A girl, a classical cellist and a boy, a pop-rock band member. The teen girl is in a tragic car accident that leaves her in a bad state. Will she make it through and follow out her dreams of being a famous musician? What aboyt their relationship? Will it make it through this rough time? This book includes lots of original lyrics to songs and music mentions and also behind the scenes life of being a musician. I really recommend this book if you are a music lover or aspiring music artist!

Songs about her

Songs about her is a three piece series that icludes the books Songs about her, songs about him and Songs about us. It is similiar in some ways to If I stay because it is about the life of a musician but it also has an angle on photography. It follows the relationship of two teens, one a musician and one a photographer. It includes a juicy love triangle for those of you who just cannot resist one of those!

The hunting party

The hunting party is a murder mystery book. A group of old friends meet up for a once in a lifetime experience. They go on what is supposed to be a lovely holiday and end up having to solve the case of a dead person! Which of the party did it? It has exciting and engaging elements as you get a background into each of their lives and a jist of who they are with each chapter changing perspective. This a great book for people who like to be kept on their toes!

The Midnight Library

Amazing, engaging book. Centred around a girl who struggled with depression. She is now in the realm between life and death after committing suicide. That realm is a library (sounds like the dream to me!) but really, this library has no ordinary books but books that include the possibilities of what her life could have been, all the paths she could have taken. This book has some heavy messages. This short novel sort of has the effect of a self-help book in the way it conveys it's important messages.
